Trade Surveillance Compliance Officer

What is the role about?

The role will be an integral part of our Compliance team. Our team, currently consisting of two Compliance Officers and a Compliance Manager, is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct across all aspects of our business operations. 

How will you make an impact?

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer with expertise in trade surveillance and regulatory compliance to join our team. You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies, with a primary focus on compliance trade surveillance, market abuse and related regulatory aspects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily trade surveillance: Conduct real-time monitoring and surveillance of trading activities to detect and prevent market manipulation, insider trading, and other regulatory violations
  • Analyse trading data and patterns to identify potential compliance issues and suspicious activities and escalate potential high risk cases to compliance manager
  • Monitor insider trading risks and implement personal trading policy and related controls 
  • Shape the design and implementation of the trade surveillance system in collaboration with different stakeholders and assist in calibrating and improving our trade surveillance system
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practices related to trade surveillance and market integrity
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings (STORS)
  • Conduct periodic compliance reviews to assess the effectiveness of existing market abuse controls and processes
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on market abuse aspects and regulatory requirements
  • In addition, the role will be required to assist on other Compliance related topics including analysing new relevant regulations (e.g. Market Abuse, MICAR, DORA) and drafting related compliance policies and procedures 

How will you be successful? 

  • Bachelor/Masters degree in Law, Business or a related field
  • At least 3 years of work experience as a trade surveillance officer, preferably at a regulated exchange/MTF or algorithmic trading firm 
  • Strong understanding of Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) is required and knowledge of MIFID, MICAR, DORA is a plus
  • Experience in data analysis tools and techniques, including experience with trade surveillance platforms (e.g., Nasdaq Market Surveillance, Actimize)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity
  • A positive can-do attitude and a creative mind
