What is the role about?
As a digital asset provider, Bitvavo has a responsibility to protect its clients against malicious actors, prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. As a firm offering service for the exchange between digital assets and regular money, we are subject to European anti-money-laundering laws and regulations and are supervised by the Dutch Central Bank. It is important to ensure that we comply with licensing requirements, internal policies and other prevailing laws. And that's where you come into play.
As a Corporate Onboarding Specialist you will be part of our KYC & Onboarding team, which is part of our larger Operations team. The KYC & Onboarding team ensures the quality of our operational KYC processes.
The KYC & Onboarding team is responsible for the following:
Onboarding of private clients
Onboarding of corporate clients: responsibility of this role.
Quality Assurance of the onboarding processes
You will face multiple challenges as we are growing quickly and are onboarding multiple complex corporate prospects every week. As it is key to comply with all regulations and best practices, you will play an essential role in ensuring this happens, together with our Professional Support Specialists, Business Development Managers, Financial Crime Officers and Compliance Officers. You will report to our Onboarding Manager.
What you'll be doing?
Within the KYC & Onboarding team you will be mainly focussed on:
Together with your team processing all KYC activities to ensure a smooth onboarding of our corporate clients
Conducting risk assessments and analysing potential threats while evaluating the likelihood of financial crimes and fraud
Performing CDD on corporate clients during their lifecycle
Implementing a data driven and automated approach to the onboarding process
Identifying and implementing ongoing improvements for performed KYC activities
Improving the knowledge and quality of KYC in the organisation
What we look for?
Preferably 3-5 years of working experience in KYC & CDD for corporate clients
Experience with data driven working and process automation
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of EU FEC and AML regulations
Prior experience with performing KYC activities and with procedures relating to corporate clients within a dynamic (FinTech) environment regulated by the Dutch Central Bank
Strong stakeholder management skills
Structured thinker that can prioritise issues and is an enthusiastic problem solver
